This week, Joel James MS, joined the Leader of the Welsh Conservatives in the Senedd, Darren Millar MS, on a visit to Age Cymru in Cardiff.
The discussions focused on the cut to winter fuel payments, which will affect over 100,000 people in Joel's region of South Wales Central alone and 400,000 homes across Wales.
Sadly, Joel heard how many older people may be forced to cut back on essentials and face the extremely difficult choice between heating and eating this winter.
The UK Government's decision has created a 'cliff edge' for those just above pension credit levels, despite knowing that almost 900,000 people are entitled to but not claiming pension credit, which will only exacerbate the situation for many.
Not a single Welsh Labour MP voted to scrap this policy and not one Welsh Labour Senedd Member voted to call on the UK Labour Government to save winter fuel payments.
