Joel James, MS, today expressed his support for Stroke Prevention Day, which this year highlights high blood pressure as the primary risk factor for stroke, contributing to nearly half of all stroke cases.
Joining thousands of others in raising awareness, Joel is encouraging people to have their blood pressure checked regularly. Those with elevated readings can work to lower their blood pressure by reducing salt intake, exercising regularly, and reviewing their alcohol consumption. Smokers are also urged to cut back or quit entirely.
Speaking about the day, Joel James MS said:
I’m proud to support Stroke Association Wales this #StrokePreventionDay and join them in encouraging everyone to have their blood pressure regularly checked so that we can stop stroke before it happens.
