South Wales Central Senedd Member, Joel James MS has participated in a Digital Inclusion workshop with Generation Rhondda, sharing online safety tips with the community.
The workshop, funded by LINK explained the importance of a secure unique password, security on your personal devices and online scams and fraud via email and text messages.
Attendees were also taught how their phones and tablets could protect them with the use of tracking location services and emergency contacts.
Speaking about the workshop, Joel said:
It was really great to be invited yesterday to Ystrad Old Age Pensioners Association and see the work being done by Generation Rhondda in their Digital Inclusion workshop, which is funded by LINK.
Loads of fantastic online safety tips, and I've got to admit, I learnt a lot - who knew you could set up an emergency contact for your lock screen? I didn’t!
