Joel James MS, has today spoken in the Senedd Chamber about his sympathy for the workers of Everest Windows which has collapsed, leaving many redundant.
Joel began his contribution to the Welsh Parliament by sharing his devastation for the workers of the Everest site, with so many people being made redundant, acknowledging that this must be a worrying time for employees and their families.
The Member also highlighted that with industry and technology changes, we need to be able to provide workers with skills that enable them to be resilient in the jobs market and to be able to quickly find work when circumstances such as these come about.
Speaking outside the Chamber, Joel said:
I’m devastated for those who have lost their jobs following the Everest Windows collapse, especially those who had come from UK Windows and Doors that went into administration last year.
Today, I spoke in the Welsh Parliament and asked the Cabinet Secretary what the Welsh Government were doing to support those who have been made redundant and build resilience in the workforce to help people find available work in similar professions.
