Welsh Politician Joel James MS and Maria and Chris from the Carpenters Arms, today drew the fundraising raffle for Cystic Fibrosis Trust and DEBRA UK, raising just under £1000 (which will be topped up) for the two causes.
Prizes included tickets for 6 Nations Games, gift vouchers and signed sports memorabilia, which were all available for purchase through raffle tickets for the whole of December at the Efail Isaf pub.
The raffle was launched at the annual Christmas Tree Light Up at the Carpenters Arms on the 3rd of December, where complimentary mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies had been kindly donated by Community Councillor Joel James MS.
Speaking after the draw, Joel said:
I’m really grateful to The Welsh Rugby Union and FA Wales for their kind generosity in donating some outstanding prizes, and to Maria and Chris at the Carpenters for organising everything - it's been absolutely fantastic. We’ve raised a large amount of money for the two brilliant charities and this couldn't have happened without the fantastic support of the village.
