Members of the Senedd Joel James MS and Andrew RT Davies MS completed their final Politics and a Pint event this evening at the Gelliwastad Club and Institute in Pontypridd, following successful events in Fairwater and Sully earlier this month.
The events allow South Wales Central constituents to catch up with their Senedd Members in person and discuss the issues that matter most to them.
The format of “Politics and a Pint” is very simple: you meet up at the venue and discuss current news topics over a drink at a local pub. It will be very informal and everyone is welcome.
Topics at the sessions have included the 20mph blanket speed limit rollout, Senedd reform, proposals to shorten the school summer holidays, the NHS in Wales, public transport and the agricultural sector.
Speaking at the venue, Joel said:
I’ve had such a great time in recent weeks at our 'Politics and a Pint' events with Andrew RT Davies.
These are a great way to directly question your local representatives on the issues that matter the most to you, and we covered a lot of topics - from the 20mph rollout to Senedd expansion and the Welsh Government's consultation on changing the school year.
The turnouts have been great- please do keep an eye out for our events next year.
