Over the last three weeks, Joel James MS has travelled across South Wales Central alongside Andrew RT Davies MS, holding ‘Politics and a Pint’ events and engaging with residents.
Following their previous success, Joel and Andrew decided to take ‘Politics and a Pint’ across the region again this year. The duo visited Rhondda Cynon Taf, Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, determined to discover what their local constituents thought about the current Welsh political landscape.
The premise of these events is for residents to have an informal chat with their elected representatives and discuss their concerns over a drink. Across the three dates, a variety of topics were raised with Joel and Andrew including; the four-day week, NHS waiting times, gender recognition and local issues.
Reflecting on the success of the events, Joel stated:
“It’s been great to travel with Andrew across our region these last few weeks, speak with constituents and learn more about their views and concerns about current Welsh affairs.
‘Politics and a Pint’ is always enjoyable, providing us with a great opportunity to touch base with our residents and get a good sense of their moods and attitudes. Some of the concerns raised recently are exceptionally valid and I’m determined to do all I can to help.
I would also like to thank everyone that come along. Andrew and I look forward to holding these again shortly”.
