On Thursday afternoon (26th of January), Joel James MS paid a visit to a world-leading resin manufacturer based in Llantrisant.
Purolite, an Ecolab Company, were pleased to host Joel James MS and showcase recent expansions and developments. Last year, Purolite tripled its production capacity at Llantrisant and opened its new Customer Experience Centre.
On his visit, Joel had a presentation from staff about the work of Purolite and how they are helping the local community. Purolite is the world’s second-largest manufacturer and distributor of ion exchange resins and uses these to purify drinking water, decontaminate groundwater and produce vital medicines.
Joel had a tour of the site and discovered how the treatment of water using resins changes the physical chemistry of water and can remove dissolved solids, salts, and ions.
Following this visit Joel said:
“Today’s visit to Purolite was insightful. I am grateful to their staff for taking the time to prepare such an educational presentation. Keeping our water as clean and as safe as possible is crucial. It was great to see the work Purolite are doing.
I was particularly interested to learn how Purolite is utilising alternative methods to help reduce their environmental impact and advance their sustainability goals.
As MS for South Wales Central, I am delighted that this global manufacturing company is investing in our region and people. It shows that South Wales has a lot to offer.”
