Commenting on the written statement from the First Minister, Welsh Conservative Shadow Social Partnership Minister, Joel James MS said:
The Welsh Conservatives have long been against the Social Partnership Council as it is too heavily dominated by Trade Unions.
Filling the Council with yes men who will only tell the First Minister what he wants to hear and agree with him on every instance creates nothing more than a socialist echo chamber.
The chair of the council should have been independent, somebody with no links to Government. Instead, the First Minister will chair the council, having his own ideas fed back to him. Which does nothing for the betterment of real people in Wales.
