Today, Joel James MS attended a ceremony to commemorate the Town status of Pontyclun.
Joel joined Rhondda Cynon Taf Council Mayor Wendy Lewis and Alex Davies-Jones MP, who presented Town Mayor Wayne Owen with the Town Confirmation Plaque.
The ceremony also formally opened this year’s Pontyclun Christmas Fayre which saw over 60 stalls including food, drink, music and fairground amusements open to the community to celebrate the festive season.
Speaking after the event, Joel said:
I had such a great time yesterday at Pontyclun Town Council's Christmas Fayre - which had added significance as Pontyclun finally became a town. This really couldn't have happened without the great work of RCT Conservatives Town Councillor Jamie Daniel, who was instrumental in achieving this honour.
