A jam-packed day was brought to an uplifting end when Joel James MS attended the Follow Your Dreams charity exhibition at Giles Gallery in Pontyclun on Thursday evening (30th March).
The exhibition showcased the incredible artwork and photography completed by children and young people with learning disabilities in the local community. The photography project was facilitated by the UK Government Levelling Up Shared Prosperity Fund through RCT Together, which encouraged children and young people to explore RCT and capture what inspired them. Their pictures were then displayed in Giles Gallery and was even available to purchase.
At the event, Joel was flattered to help present the certificates to the talented upcoming photographers and to celebrate their outstanding efforts. He was joined in this honour by Community Councillor Sian Assiratti.
Talking after the event, Joel said:
“It was brilliant to come along to the Follow Your Dreams Charity exhibition tonight and celebrate the remarkable artwork that is on display. The quality of the children’s work is outstanding, and I strongly encourage everyone to visit the exhibition.
After speaking with Diane, the importance of this charity became crystal clear. Many of these children and their families would feel totally isolated without the support from Diane and the team.
To present these talented individuals with their certificates tonight was a privilege and it was truly heart-warming to see the smiles on their faces and to see how proud they all were”.
