Responding to the appointment of a new Older People’s Commissioner for Wales, Joel James MS, Shadow Minister for Social Partnership, said:
The Welsh Conservatives welcome the new commissioner to the role and would like to thank Heléna Herklots, the outgoing commissioner, for the work and the passion that she has brought to the role.
Older people face unique challenges and are often left behind in our fast-changing world, we hope that Rhian Bowen-Davies will remain a strong advocate for them.
It is important that older people’s needs are recognised in the very heart of government, and I remain committed to supporting them in the Senedd.
