South Wales Central Senedd Member, Joel James MS has met with Cardiff People First- a self-advocacy organisation run by and for people with a learning disability in Cardiff.
Staff and volunteers at Cardiff People First stand up for the rights of people with a learning disability and campaign to change attitudes, get better services and enjoy more opportunities.
Speaking about the visit Joel said:
It was great to meet with Cardiff People First at the end of November. It was a pleasure to explain the role of a Senedd Member and the issues I can help a constituent with from health concerns to an issue in the local community.
I was also really grateful to learn more about the difficulties faced by people with a learning disability in Cardiff and the steps I can take to advocate for change.
