Senedd Member Joel James has today officially launched his competition to find South Wales Central’s best pub of 2024, following the success of the 2023 competition.
The competition promises to be a celebration of the region’s outstanding pubs, with South Wales Central covering Rhondda Cynon Taf, Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.
The award of South Wales Central’s Best Pub will be awarded to an overall winner voted for by residents, with a further selection of pubs selected as area winners.
Area winners, voted by residents, will follow Welsh Parliamentary constituencies of Pontypridd, Rhondda, Cynon Valley, Cardiff West, Cardiff North, Cardiff Central, Cardiff South and Penarth and the Vale of Glamorgan to acknowledge the wide variety of businesses across the region.
The pub which receives the most nominations will be awarded Joel James MS’ Best Pub Award 2024.

Speaking about the award, Joel said:
It was brilliant to visit the The Traders Tavern Cardiff back in October to congratulate them once again for being the Cardiff Central winners of my Best Pub Award Competition 2023 and present them with their outside banner.
