Senedd Members from across the political parties including Joel James MS have attended the launch of the BASC Wildlife Fund at the Welsh Parliament.
The reception aimed to introduce the BASC Wildlife Fund to Members of the Senedd, exposing the work of shoots, clubs and syndicates to enhance natural habitats and benefit a plethora of species.
The BASC Wildlife Fund offers financial support for hands-on conservation initiatives and sustainable land management, with more than £467,000 in grants being awarded for a range of projects since January 2020.
Speaking after the launch, Joel said:
It was brilliant to attend the launch of the BASC Wildlife Fund at the Welsh Parliament just before Easter. The BASC Wildlife Fund has awarded grants in excess of £520,000 for conservation projects both in the UK and internationally. These projects have focused on improving the conservation of both quarry and non-quarry species including the hen harrier, curlew, pochard and wigeon.
