Responding to his exchange with the Labour Cabinet Secretary for the Economy, Joel James MS, Welsh Conservative Member for South Wales Central, said:
Wales’ coastline has the potential to host a variety of major water events, such as the Ironman competition in September.
Not only do these events improve fitness amongst people who compete, it provides a much-needed boost to the tourism industry and the Welsh economy.
However, failing to hold Dŵr Cymru to account for dumping into Welsh waterways by issuing appropriate enforcement action, the Welsh Government risk organisers looking elsewhere for these events.
