South Wales Central Senedd Member, Joel James MS, has visited St Fagans, the National Museum of History to take a look at their current exhibitions, including the ‘Petitioning for Peace’ exhibition that recalls the story of women’s activism in Wales.
Speaking about his visit, Joel said:
At the end of July, it was great to visit Sain Ffagan: Amgueddfa Werin Cymru - St Fagans National Museum of History to look at their current exhibitions including ‘Petitioning for Peace’ that recalls the story of women’s activism in Wales.
After the First World War, nearly 400,000 women in Wales signed a peace petition and presented it to the women of the United States of America.
A century later, the Women’s Peace Petition and the chest were rediscovered and gifted back to Wales. The petition and chest, on loan from the National Library of Wales, are among the highlight objects of this exhibition.
The exhibition is available to view until the 15th of September- it’s definitely worth a visit.
