Joel James MS alongside fellow South Wales Central Member Rhys Ab Owen MS, have today visited the Wyndham Street Centre in Riverside to meet with Charlie Morris.
The Members heard how Charlie has recently launched a new project called The Fullness Project - 'Living life to the full, regardless of age' as part of the South Riverside Community Centre (SRCDC) charity.
The charity, based in Riverside, aims to deliver a program of activities, 1-to-1 and group sessions, trips, and events to enhance the lives of adults aged 55+ years for residents of Riverside, Grangetown, and Canton.
Activities already on offer include free-of-charge weekly activities such as a lunchtime club, board gaming, arts and crafts, exercise classes, sourdough and Kimchi workshops and practice language cafes.
Speaking after the visit, Joel said:
It was great to join Rhys ab Owen AS/MS yesterday to visit the Wyndham Street Centre and meet with Charlie Morris.
It was wonderful to hear about The Fullness Project and the plans that Charlie and the SRCDC have for the coming years. They aim to deliver a program of activities, group sessions, and events designed to enhance the lives of older residents in Riverside, Grangetown, and Canton.
A weekly pantry and drop-in session are also available to the community who require sign-posting and further information on professional services.
Look out for information on their Lunar Festival in the New Year, it sounds like a brilliant event!
