Joel James MS, Senedd Member for South Wales Central has today congratulated Cardiff City Football Club who are celebrating the 125th anniversary of their inaugural match this week.
The Member highlighted that the club, originally known as Riverside AFC, played Barry West End on the 7th October 1899 at Sophia Gardens.
During his contribution, the Member stated he was delighted that, to mark the anniversary, the walls of Cardiff Castle, as well as the Roath Park lighthouse, will be lit up in blue, showing the strength of support that the Bluebirds have from our capital city.
Closing his statement, Joel reminded Members that the club still remain the only team outside of England to have won the FA Cup and wished the team the best for their upcoming game against Plymouth Argyle.
