Joel James MS, the Senedd Member for South Wales Central has attended the opening of BT’s new home in Cardiff.
The event celebrated BT’s multi-million-pound investment in the city, providing a home for around 1,000 colleagues across BT Group, Business, EE and Openreach in Wales.
The new Cardiff HQ is part of BT Group’s major programme to modernise the company’s workspaces and reduce its number of locations in the UK from more than 300 to around 30.
The workspace has been fitted with the latest smart building technology, flexible workspaces and collaboration areas. It also features a 6th-floor roof terrace, café, underground cycle parking and shower and changing facilities.
Speaking about the event, Joel said:
I was delighted to be invited to the opening of BT’s new home in Cardiff a few weeks ago. It was brilliant to learn more about the breadth of their work in Wales and also have the chance to meet Cardiff Rugby players, Ellis Jenkins and Ellis Bevan, who talked about the impact BT’s sponsoring of the club has had. BT have sponsored all four Welsh professional teams – Ospreys, Cardiff Rugby, Scarlets and Dragons – since 2014, making it one of the longest sponsorship deals in the history of Welsh regional rugby!
