Joel James MS, South Wales Central Senedd Member has today marked International Day of Persons with Disabilities and called out the Welsh Government for pulling their statement.
The Welsh Government was scheduled to deliver an oral statement in recognition of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, but they opted for a written statement instead. This change means that political parties could not comment or contribute to the discussion surrounding this important day.
Speaking on International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Joel said:
Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities, but sadly, the Welsh Government has pulled its Oral Statement - which is quite frankly disgraceful.
Oral Statements allow us to question the Welsh Government and to hold them to account for their lack of action.
Last week, I asked them to reverse their decision, but sadly they refused.
