- The overall winner and the winner for Pontypridd is the Farmers Arms.
- The winner for Rhondda is The Greenfield.
- The winner for Cynon Valley is The Brynffynnon.
- The winner for Cardiff North is The Pantmawr Inn.
- The winner for Cardiff Central is The Traders Tavern.

Senedd Member Joel James has launched a competition to find South Wales Central’s best pub of 2023!
The competition promises to be a celebration of the region’s outstanding pubs, with South Wales Central covering Rhondda Cynon Taf, Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.
The award of South Wales Central’s Best Pub will be awarded to an overall winner voted for by residents, with a further selection of pubs selected as area winners.
Area winners, voted by residents, will follow Welsh Parliamentary constituencies of Pontypridd, Rhondda, Cynon Valley, Cardiff West, Cardiff North, Cardiff Central, Cardiff South and Penarth and the Vale of Glamorgan to acknowledge the wide variety of businesses across the region.
The pub which receives the most nominations will be awarded Joel James MS’ Best Pub Award 2023.
You can nominate your favourite pub below. Nominations open on Friday 22nd December 2023 and will close on Thursday 29th February 2024.
